Good Luck all the under 12 teams tomorrow, lets make it a clean sweep of wins - why not!
Eagles v Broadheath, Falcons v Barr Hill, Metros v Boothstown and Warriors v Broadheath, (with new signing Liam - recommended to Derek by the Eagles).
I won't be there again as I am still recovering from my latest back op, so good luck everyone !
ALSO a special mention to the U9 Jets, top of Div 2, who were 2-0 up in a friendly this morning against the Div 1 leaders Wilmslow Albion, before finally losing out 3-2 in a great game. The Wilmslow manager said it was their hardest game of the season!
See y'all......

I'm afraid we couldn't do our bit - short-handed again this week.
Having lost two of our players pre-season and a further 2 to long term injuries perhaps you could point the next recruit our way.....

| Rob - will do - we weren't aware you were on the lookout. Derek said he was looking for players when John James bumped into him a couple of weeks ago, so he came down to look at the lad. Cheers. |

Cheers - two 40 goals a season forwards would do!

I understand that a U12 players recruitment drive is about to take place - great news.
To put our position on the line we had 15 players signed on at the start of the season. 2 have left leaving us with 13, one of whom can only play the odd game - so realistically we are down to a squad of 12.
Only 1 injury puts us in to an embarrasing position. (Is that the sound of "I told you so" I hear wafting from above?!)
If new players are recruited I think that this needs addressing perhaps before we look to strengthen other squads, although I accept that other teams may see it differently.
There are some good players in the Metros squad that will be an asset to the the three remaining teams next year (however they are selected) , and it would be a shame to lose any - there is a limit to the amount of "character building defeats" that any 12 year old can take!!

Hi Rob,
Actually I don't think Derek or the Falcons have any issues. We are looking for another player to get the squad back up to 14 as someone left recently, and you mentioned that you are after a player or two. Hopefully by being pro-active, and placing the ad on behalf of the age group, it will generate some interest. It seems a reasonable way of going about it. If anyone has any better ideas, then by all means go for it! |
