Posted - 13/12/2007 : 12:12:25 It's been a good season so far with all the players performing well and enjoying it tremendously. They have not only made their parents proud but also Jason and I as they are slowly but surely developing a good team spirit and all the training and passing drills we have worked on over the years are begining to show dividends. We are beginging to have a good set formation with Luke and Louis Wainwright up front scoring for fun sometimes, while Sam Astbury and Louis Foster have been working tirelessly in the midfield and not only creating goals but scoring to, while the defence of Joe, Oscar and Sam Battersby have developed a good understanding and rarely give fouls away. Callum though has been a revalation in goal his lack of fear being a major asset if only we could get him to stay there we would have a good settled side, unfortunately he likes to get into the thick of it and who can blame him when in several matches he rarely has had anything to do. Jason and I have been very impressed with not only their dedication but their application even when things have gone against them they have worked hard to turn things round and apart from two upsets (One of their own doing the other a dubious team selection on the part of our hosts) they have won or drawn every game. And only losing one game at the JJB and conceding about 7 goals while scoring about 30. Jason and I would like to thank the parents but in particular the children for making it as enjoyable for us as it obviously is for them.

Posted - 24/01/2008 : 12:04:08 As the season has progressed Unicorn Dragons have become quite a unit, unfortunately we lost Louis Wainwright to Manchester Utd and Broadheath Central and though he will be sorely missed we wish him all the best in the future. We have seen great improvements in players this season special note goes to Callum who has been superb for us in goal, if only he wanted to stay there we would have a really settled balenced side however. Sam Battersby has been terrific in defence along with Joe harney who's skills are improving almost weekly, while Oscar Johnson is certainly showing that he can hack it and though a rugby boy at heart is showing great willingness to learn. The whole team are begining to roll. After a disappointing defeat to Hale Utd in atrocious conditions they have gone on to win every game played and with some superb performances in the JJB. Long may it continue.
