The break in the weather saw a re-arranged match between the two teams in the U13 division 1 - the first encounter following the Christmas re-shuffle!

Before the match the amalgamation of the teams was justified as both squads were missing players but still had the benefit of being able to name substitutes - a rarity for the first part of the season!

Both teams tried to get the ball down and play in the first half and determination and effort was evident from both sets of players but it was the Panthers who took the lead when Alex C broke forward to slide the ball past Joe in the Cougar's goal. Ben, the Panther's stand-in keeper, had no chance when Jordan smacked home a cracking equaliser after the Cougars had battled their way back into the match to leave the score at 1-1 at the break.

In the second half the Panthers showed the benefit of having a strong bench and the boys were able to step up a gear and even start talking - the first half had been a quiet affair with not much communication on the pitch! JP bravely tucked the ball away for our second before Bysie chipped in a fine third (showing the bset way to get at the opposition is to let your feet do the talking and not get involved!). Alex wrapped up the scoring with his second and although the scoreline probably flattered us over the 70 minutes a solid team display with the boys beginning to gel with each other should auger well for the rest of the season.

Man of the match - Philip

Squad - Ben, George, Patrick, Mitchell, Philip, Trevo, Ally, Robert, Alex C, JP, Thomas, Sam S, Will, Bysie
