JETS AWAY TO WILMSLOW SPORTS 29TH MAR CUP SEMI 08
This was the semi final of the cup, playing a team that has proved its self as a formidable opponent in the past and we therefore looked forward to a good game of football.

Wilmslow sports (WS) started off a lot faster than us, true to form we dragged our heals for the first few minutes, almost so that WS nearly scored after 4 minutes with the ball just going wide. As we started to wake up we started to give as a good as we got and the game entered the “Tit for Tat” mode. Eleven minutes in and Chris makes his first subs. A minute later Sam puts an excellent ball through to Ryanaldo who puts it in the back of the net 1 :) 0
We were now starting to take control of the game, but WS were still playing some excellent football especially their No.12 who showed a lot of spirit. Three minutes later and Kyle had a great shot at goal requiring a great save from their keeper

The game started as the first left, Di the spy, informed us to be weary of a quick break from the Kick off. We were starting to get more and more control of the game as it progressed, when 3 minutes into the period we were awarded a free kick, Nathan Philips approached the ball and blasted it into the net. 2 :) 0
This was a superb goal and full credit to Nathan. One minute later Nico tried a chip to the top left corner that again required a good save by the keeper. Nathan had another shot saved by the keeper; the WS keeper was on form.

I think it is fair to say that we were now showing a level of football that was excellent the teamwork was superb, we were finding our players with accurate passes and we were keeping the pressure on. WS were as I expected them not giving up at all they displayed excellent character and kept looking for that first goal. In the first minute of the third period Ben T put a great ball through to Will whose shot went just wide.
We entered another “Tit for Tat” period when WS tried to break from a long kick out by their keeper but we had our secret weapon in goals and he calmly snatched it out of the air and played to Adam. Ten minutes in and another sub by Chris. Thirteen minutes in we get a throw which Sam takes and puts it out to Kyle who puts a good ball through to Nathan Phillips 3 :) 0
The ball is kicked off from the centre spot and Nathan intercepts, he and Kyle plough down the middle together a wonderful one two pass and Kyle’s shot goes wide.
Vince’s Verdict
WS had a superb attitude to this game and although I feel we were the better team it’s a shame that this hadn’t been the final because both teams deserved to come away with that recognition. The Man of the Match was a hard decision to make every player played their heart out. However, one player proved the saying “Where there’s a will there’s a way” was true.
Well done Jets. Very grateful thanks and well done Chris and Rick for bringing our guys to this point.
