Just a quick update as I have become a little tardy with my postings of late. Since the "top of the table" clash with Stretford Vics on 20 April, the Wizards have had two further fixtures.
A mid week away win at Deans secured the runners up position but last Sunday's home defeat by Broadheath appeared to have put paid to any hopes of grabbing the top spot.
However, a midweek home draw by Stretford Vics means that the two teams go into Sunday's final game in the following positions. Vics Played 19, Points 42. Wizards Played 19, Points 40.
My rudimentary knowledge of Maths and the League rules, lead me to think that any one of three outcomes are still possible.
Vics win - Vics are champions
Vics draw and Wizards win - Tie and play off (I believe there is no goal difference in the leagues. Is this correct?)
Vics lose and Wizards win - Wizards are champions
This has been a really close league all season so it is great that it is going to the final day, (not sure if Mark would agree with me on that !!).
