Wyth Town 1 Under 11 Eagles 0 - Div 1 Sun 26th Nov

Games played 7 W2 D1 L4

A hard fought entertaining game played in the usual great spirit between two good sides. Town had come into the game on the back of a recent and suprising dip in results and the Eagles were enjoying a run of 5 unbeaten. The Eagles had had a great time on Saturday at laserquest and were in great spirits entering this fixture. Town made a determined start in the game and the Eagles had to concentrate during the early exchanges. Louis had a super chance to score but was denied by the keeper. The mini soccer goals meant that chances had to be taken and great goal keeping by both keepers (both surely up there among the leagues best) led to the score remaining 0-0 at the break.

After the break again both teams played some great footy but Town seemed to have the edge, possibly remembering their County Cup exit at our hands a few weeks ago, and broke the deadlock early into the second half with a low rasper off the muddy pitch to make it 1-0. Both teams continued to press and Eagles were unlucky not to equalise. Mark, Chris and Harry all had good chances to do so but the Wythy keeper remained on top of his game.

The game finished 1-0 and Town deserved their hard fought win. Eagles keep working and take those chances!

MOM Louis - great attacking display, unlucky not to have scored!

HT 0-0 FT 1-0
