The game was played at St Wilfreds School, Northenden.
After all this years' warnings about global warming the pitch was true to type for January. A mudbath fit for a crash of rhinoceroses but which made for an enjoyable spectacle. After an early brain teaser in trying to assemble the goalposts I have decided to renege on going onto Krypton Factor as we had to wait for Mr Busby to show his prowess in putting the goals up. It was no use asking the girlies to try this after their Friday night out.
The Tigers started quite brightly after all their Christmas excesses but Wythenshawe took control of the game and scored in the first session. Both teams played good football which was appreciated by the watching parents. It has to be said that WAP looked a stronger team and indeed look to be the best team in the league by far. The second session was similar to the first with WAP scoring two scrappy goals but also went close on numerous occasions. The Tigers fought hard and never gave up and with a little bit of luck could have scored a couple themselves. As the game wore on so WAP got more on top and a final score of 4-0 was deserved albeit slightly flattering. Ben H, Seb and James put in some sterling performances.
On my way to the school I was listening to Barry Fry on Radio 5 Live and then who should I meet in the car park but none other than Mr. Prickett. Freaky eh. I do not intend to criticise any of the management team this week in respect of their human rights. This is a one week amnesty until after we play bottom team Timperley Athletic on Saturday. No pressure there then.
Finally I would like to wish Les a speedy recovery and hope to see him and his repartee on the touchline this weekend. I shall also be looking into the Muffingate Affair after last weeks' debacle.
