The game was played at The Willows Primary School, Timperley.
There's no need to gild the lily this week. England thrash the Aussies, United win, City lose and of course the Tigers wallop poor old Timperley Villa. Then there were the muffins - iced with hearts on. Well done girlies.
You may have noticed that this week Mr Prickett was absent for the second time this season. I can reveal he has been on a scouting mission looking at Ajax's youth set up. Well if Pearce can get to work for England then who can stop Mr Prickett climbing the ladder of success. The factotum of the Tigers was never missed as Mr Busby proved himself to be more than an able deputy as he has shown before this season - scoring nine goals in two games. Time for Mr Prickett to throw away his Dave Sexton coaching manual methinks.
The game started brightly with both teams working hard and creating chances but the first goal fell to Sam after good build-up work from the midfield. This was quickly followed by another goal from Ben C which gave the Tigers a comfortable first session lead. The second session turned into a rout as the Tigers piled on the attack and were rewarded with goals from Joel, and a brace from Jake. I must confess I missed Joel's goal as I was tracking down his brothers' crisps and as the days have gone by the length of the shot has increased.
The third session was an anti-climax with the game done and dusted. Timperley managed to pull a goal back and it was probably just reward as they had contributed to a good game. Everybody in the Tigers team played their part and Ben H looked on a personal mission to score a goal but to no avail. Defensively they were sound with Tom and Seb doing very well whilst the midfield and forwards worked and passed the ball well. They have only one league game left now and with this form they should expect a good run in the cup competitions.
Have a good lie-in this Saturday folks and see you on Saturday week for a friendly against one of the other Unicorn teams.
