Lymm Rovers Falcons U10 2-1 Unicorn Sambas U9
Saturday 3rd March, 2007
Lymm High School

In what was a competitive match against the second team in Division 2 of the U10's, the Sambas came away with a narrow defeat despite enjoying plenty of possession over the 45 minutes.

Lymm went one up after 6 minutes when a long ball reached the centre forward who put the ball into the bottom corner of the net. The Sambas soon regained parity in the game when Andy Nugent cut in from the left and scored with a low right footer (1-1).

The Sambas dominated play but went behind again in the 24th minute (2-1 Lymm). A low shot from another long ball.

Continued pressure on the Lymm goal as the second period progressed resulted in two penalties for the Sambas - unfortunately both chances were unsuccessful.

In the final period, despite plenty of possession and pressure in the final third of the pitch, the Sambas were unable to draw level and Lymm came out of the game with a narrow victory.

Well done to the boys who once again went up against an older age group and proved they have the ability to be competitive.

It's the cup next week with an away game at NJ Wythenshawe.
