Deans Sports 1 Eagles 2 - Div 1, Jan 6th 2008
A late Christmas present in the form of a last gasp Eagles winner ensured that 3 more hard earned points were added to their healhy season tally. In a scrappy game, Deans took the lead when the Eagles defence failed to clear a ball into the box with the ball being thumped into the net for a 1-0 home lead.
After the break the Eagles stepped up a gear, but when good chances were spurned it looked as if the Deans lads were on their way to doing the double over the Unicorn team in the league this season. Jack was pushed up front with Dino and Louis and a cross from him led to a Deans defender heading past his own keeper to restore parity, with 10 minutes to go.
The Eagles could now sense a winning goal in the crisp January air, and duly completed their comeback when Dino put in a superb corner for Shaun to leap 'salmon like' to head home with the last move of the game!
So, a great 2nd half performance from the boys - and well reffed by Steve Leebetter. Keep uo the good work lads!
MOM - Will Lumb - off his sick bed to the game and some geat defensive work to boot!
Special mention to Tricia Bullman for passing round the footy card at work - much appreciated!
