ALTRINCHAM JUNIORS 1 - 5 UNICORN TIGERS

It has been a welcome break from the football over the Christmas period made longer by the postponement of the Oswald Road fixture in early December. Phil kept us busy though by organising two excellent outings for us all. The first was the Manchester United Museum and Stadium Tour for the kiddies and the second was a fine night at Hale Kitchen for the oldies. It was my first visit on the United tour and I was quite impressed as I am sure all the people who were there were. Then in the evening he organised our tea for us at Hale Kitchen and what a good night was had by all.

Anyway back to the humdrum of the football. This was a match against the team that the Tigers filled their boots 11-2 on the opening day of the season. It was played at Timperley Sports Ground on a cold day and it was good to see you all again. The match was not the best of the season but the result was very satisfying. Jake opened the scoring followed by a goal from James. Altrincham seemed content to play a 6-0-0 formation which didn't help the game at all but The Tigers persevered and then Seb cropped up in the penalty area to score the third. Altrincham then came out of their shell and actually scored a goal which was the signal for the Tigers to go straight down to the other end and Jake scored the fourth. Jake then went on to score his hat-trick to give the Tigers a well deserved victory. I must have been daydreaming or yabbing too much as I was convinced it was 4-1 at the end.

Finally what do Mr Prickett and Sir Bobby Charlton have in common? - and it's nothing to do with football ability or hairstyles. I was reminded of this on the tour of United.
