Fresh from back to back wins the Dragons were looking to make it 3 in a row against a Fletcher Moss team who are always hard to break down.

The coaches (inspired by Steve Mclaren?) had decided to start with a new diamond formation with Adam marshalling the back behind Grady and Jon who were given licence to move further forward and this seemed to work although the game was pretty even for the first 5 minutes. Alex was forced into a save from an FM corner but then Josh created a couple of corners himself with incisive runs. A tight midfield battle involving Jon, Fraser and Reece seemed to be working when Jon and Reece worked a great move down the left before suppling Josh whose effort brought a great save from the FM keeper, swiftly followed by another save from the corner. However the pressure eventually told when Reece flicked on another corner to the far post and Jon volleyed home for a great opener. Just when it looked as though the Dragons were taking control uncertainty in defence allowed a cross shot to be steered home so the period ended 1-1 when perhaps a lead should have been achieved.

Reverting to a standard formation, the start of the second period was equally tight and whilst another Josh effort went close FM were creating opportunities and Jon and Matt had to carefully watch the breakaways. Midway through the period however came perhaps the defining moment when Reece, having battled away down the right, slung in a cross cum shot which semed to hit the side stanchion before bouncing down on the line and being cleared away. Despite looking in (dont they all!) it was perhaps too tight to call but despite some more good passing moves and a shot by George the period ended even at 1-1.

The last period started brightly and Mikes runs down the flanks were starting to stretch FM but the corners earned were not put away. At the other end though holes were starting to appear in defence and the quick FM forwards were creating problems. Alex pulled off one great save but could not stop FM scoring from a breakaway, swiftly followed by a third. George tried to get the team back in the game but it was not to be and FM ran out the winners.

Hopefully though the Dragons will move back to winning ways next weekend.
