Falcons 6 v Broadheath B 1
The over-used football cliches "its a funny old game" and "game of two halves" were never better illustrated than in this Division 1 game between Broadheath B and the Falcons.
Despite having 80% of the possession, playing some superb football and creating at least a dozen clear cut scoring chances, the Falcons ended the first half a goal down when Broadheath's sole venture into the opposition's territory yielded a well taken goal just before the interval.
H-T (0-1)
The second half started where the first had finished with the Broadheath keeper making a number of excellent saves before George crept in front of his marker at the near post to bundle the ball home from close range for a well deserved equaliser. This equaliser signalled the begining of a Falcons goal rush with five more scores in quick succession from George (2), Ashley (2) and Mason (1). While this was convincing victory for the Timperley side, the final score was somewhat harsh on a battling Broadheath team who have recruited some new players of late and can surely look forward to some improved results in the second half of the season.
So in summary, the Falcons played brilliantly in the first half but went in at the interval one goal down. In the second half the overall quality of the play was not quite as good but they netted six times. It really is a funny old game!!
Next week the Falcons are away at Deans in the League Cup.
