Div 1 - Broadheath 1 Eagles 2 - Sun 23rd Feb
A resilient and committed Eagles side took all 3 points at partington Rec this morning in cold and blustery conditions against an 'up for it' Broadheath 'A'. The 1st period was dominated by the Eagles and when Chaz broke down the left wing and slotted home with aplomb to make it 0-1, the floodgates looke likely to open. Jack headed a corner onto the bar and several other chances went begging and therefore it remained 0-1 at the break.
After the break Broadheath stepped it up, but it was Chris who followed up a shot that hit the post to make it 0-2. The game was being played at a fast pace, and when the home team pulled one back it made for an exciting last 18 minutes. The Eagles defended well and had further chances to score but the final score remained 1-2.
A gutsy performance from both teams in trying conditions, but the Eagles deserved the win today due to a combination of hard work, skill and a desire to succeed.
MOM - Andy B, Chaz and Chris all earned extra praise from the management team in what was a solid team performance!
