The Jets Flying High ¡V All aboard for Division 1

The Game kicked off in true Jets fashion, i.e. they played football while we were still asleep. It soon became apparent that Alty had every intention to take the game to us and put some very good moves against us catching us lacking in movement. Although we weren't ( Except Jamo who played his heart out through out the match) getting it together we still managed some moments of magic Kyle broke from the back seven minutes into the game only to have his shot saved. By The end of the period we were holding our own against a very determined team.
We could have been a goal down if not for the cool and intelligent work by James.

We were starting show a little of our form in the second period, with a few moments of magic, Sam was shutting down the opposition on his end and James was controlling his end. The game was very much ¡§Tit for Tat¡¨ in the mid field, however, Will didn¡¦t an excellent run and put a great cross through to Benedict which was just to high for him to connect with his head. As the game progressed I we had many missed opportunities but the gaol was just not coming.

This was more like it, after Di the Spy had told our Guys that Alty said that they were going give them a football thrashing and Chris¡¦s pep talk, we game out looking like champions and we started playing like champions as well. This was the mighty Jets on form again. Two minutes in and Benedict puts a great ball into the Goal mouth for Benedict to push pass their keeper. 1 ƒº 0
We are really controlling the game Nico has a shot deflected and another chip just goes over the cross bar. Kyle is playing like he is Rooney. Six minutes into the game and Nathan returns the favour of a great long ball into the goal mouth, Benedict hits the after burner, spreads his wings and fly's up to meet the ball and head it into the goal, definitely the goal of the season. 2 ļ 0
Nathan runs down the right wing shoots from near the corner post the keeper comes out to get it but the ball takes a cruel bounce just before he can save it and it goes in the net. 3 ļ 0
Just before the end while trying to clear a very awkward cross one of the Alty¡¦ players scores an n Own goal.
Vince¡¦s Verdict
The Score line doesn¡¦t reflect the game at all; this game was a course of cardio- vascular exercise for the spectators. Every time we came close but couldn¡¦t get it in the gaol, the Alty keeper played very well, like wise their striker was dangerous in possession. Once again though more than anything else I am amazed by the level of character that these 9 year old lads can show, they share a bond and spirit for the team that raises their game.
