Jets away to Urmston Meadowside 25Apr08.
Chris expects this report to be two pages this week, which would make it longer than the pitch we played Urmston Medowside on. The goal keepers shook hands at the end of the game and they were still in their respective areas. We approached this game with great trepidation, firstly because on two earlier occasions they have given us a great run for our money and secondly we cannot afford to lose any points now with Communities nipping at our heels. Next week will tell which Wilmslow team are the best. (Only 1 ¾ pages to go) Chris expressed that he was additionally worried because the training session on Tuesday was rather troublesome and he therefore didn’t know what to expect on Saturday. We also had concerns about whether our star gaol keeper what be available for the game, but I am proud to say that he turned up a great personal sacrifice so as not to let his team mates down, we all appreciate that Nathan, well done.( ! 2/3 pages to go) I am just remembering some tricks from my school days, (yes I know it’s hard to believe that any body capable of writing this dribble went to school!)

The game kicked off promptly at 10:30 and completely out of character we were alert and awake, two minutes in and Ryanaldo put a good ball through to Killer Kyle who put us on the score sheet. 1 #61514; 0 I like all the other Jets parents couldn’t believe what had just occurred and I don’t think the players could believe it either as we fell apart at the back and Urmston scored a great goal from a long high ball. 1 #61516; 1 But as I said before we were on fire everybody was pulling their weight and seven minutes into the period and Ryanaldo again puts through a good ball to Nathan Philips 2 #61514; 1. Killer Kyle was on fire and a minute had a really great shot on goal then there was a commotion in the box and they scored an own goal. 3 #61514; 1 Ten minutes in and Benedict had a great shot at goal which was saved by the keeper, we were playing some of the best passing football I have ever seen us play. We went through a spell where we had chance after chance but the ball wouldn’t go into the net, well this must have frustrated Mighty Sam Owen because he took up the mantle from the back with some clever footwork came through the field and finished with an excellent chip and the goal was his 4 #61514; 1.
2/15
To their credit Urmston started the second period with the bit between their teeth and a renewed determination, but we held them off with sound midfield and defensive play. Five minutes into the second period and Nico passes to Benedict who passes to Nathan who in turn passes to James who puts his name on the score sheet 5 #61514; 1. We are again making our mark on the game Killer Kyle has another great shot saved. The pressure is telling on Urmston as they again score an own goal 6 #61514; 1. The play is now been dominated by the Jets and is taking place mainly in Urmston’s half.
3/15
The period starts as the last one ended, although Urmston are still trying to recover. Five minutes and Kyle gets a very well deserved goal 7 #61514; 1. Urmston break from a great pass out by their keeper and their striker hits it well, but not well enough to get pass SuperKeeper, Nathan. As I have said Kyle was electric and deservedly got his second goal from a great run making it 8 #61514; 1. A couple of minutes later and scrummage in their area results in Nathan Philips being brought down and the Jets are awarded a penalty. A determined Ryanaldo steps up to spot places the ball and then buries it in the Meadowside goals 9 #61514; 1.
Vince's Verdict.
This was a complete shock, we expected a closer result than 9 #61514; 1. I did observe that Urmston was up to full strength one mid field player in particular was being missed. But with the greatest respect to Urmston we played some excellent football our passing was both intelligent and accurate, we never stopped looking for the next opportunity, we kept on fishing and hunting for the next goal. We played like a great team and we deserve to finish on top of the table so onwards and upwards the Mighty Jets.
Man of the Match Kyle Notable performances Everybody
Official Appointments – Mike Reilly has been appointed the official Lacer up, I am sure I speak for all the parents in wishing mike every success in this position.
