UNICORN TIGERS 11C 3 - 0 ASHTON ON MERSEY 11B
A glorious Autumnal day welcomed the boys as we met to play Ashton On Mersey at Heyes Lane. I arrived expecting to smell that lovely aroma of bacon but obviously my hints in the last report fell on stony ground. I blame Germaine Greer meself. After two successive defeats the Tigers needed to win this game, and how they responded. This week we had a very competent referee which wasn't too difficult after last weeks shenanigans. Anyway I digress again. In the first half the Tigers played some enterprising football. It wasn't quite total football but nonetheless all the players kept their shape which made it very difficult for AoM to get into the game. They deservedly took the lead when Adam poked the ball in from about ten yards - not quite the twenty yards he would have you believe. In the second half the Tigers carried on from where they left off. Good tackling and passing enabled Umar to score a lovely goal when he outpaced their defence. They continued to impress and Joel sealed the game when he scored his second goal of the season. Great performances all round and none more so than in defence by Ben H and Tom. One question? Where does Les keep disappearing to after the first half? I might follow him one day. I'm sure you'll all know by now that I have got a job at Loreto School - don't tell the Social by the way. I'm really going to miss Jeremy Kyle - I suppose I can always SkyPlus it. In these bleak times if you have any spare cash to invest then I can help you (for a finders fee of course). A man has developed an Air Bag for OAPs so that if/when they fall it'll protect them. Think of the future when you get trashed on a Friday or Saturday night. A sure fire certainty if ever there was one. See you all at Chorlton Park on Sunday.
