South Manchester 2 v Falcons 4
A fantastic team effort with great performances across all areas of the pitch saw the Falcons clinch a well deserved 4-2 win against South Manchester. With the wind and the Chorlton Park slope in their favour the Falcons dominated the first half but could not turn territorial advantage into a clear half time lead and were disappointed to reach the interval at 1-1. (Great goalkeeping and both posts thwarting at least half a dozen goalscoring chances)
Despite dropping behind early in the second half the Timperley side hit back strongly and goals from Ashley (2) and George(2) were enough to secure a second league win of the season.
Upfront, Eddie, Ashley and George excelled and are begin to forge formidable partnerships. Neal and newcomer, Shaun, strove hard in midfield to break up opposition attacks; Tom and Mason worked the flanks well and the back five (Danny, Sam , Jamie, Joel and Kaylem) excelled by limiting the talented SM strikers to 3 or 4 opportunities.
Most pleasing however was purple patch in the first half when the Falcons passing game went into overdrive. Keeping the ball on the ground, passing to feet and spreading the play from one side to side of the pitch to the other was pleasing on the eye and thoroughly effective as SM struggle to with the goal scoring chances that were created.
This is the standard that the Falcons must strive to achieve every week.
Team - Danny, Sam, Jamie, Joel, Kaylem, Tom, Neal, Shaun, Mason, George, Eddie, Ashley
