This Game started a little scrappy with both teams not playing up to their best. For the first 20 mins or so neither team was able to string more than two passes together although the Cougars perhaps did edge it in getting forward more often.
The first goal cam e from a free kick awarded to the Cougars about 15 yards outside the Stretford box. Rob Fitz Floated a lovely ball into the area with the keeper unable to keep hold of the ball Alex C was the first too react and nudge the ball home. Stretford came back at us straight away with a well worked piece down the right hand side. 1-1 at half time was probably a fair result for both teams.
The second half saw a much better game of football from both teams with both teams playing better positional and passing football. Unicorns second goal came from Will's cross for Chris to slot home. Stretford never gave up though and came back forcing a couple of great saves from Alex P. George who had come on at half time was having an immediate effect and it was from his shot that Will was able to knock in from the goalkeepers dropped ball.
Both Teams were a real credit to themselves with good attacking passing football the order of the day.
Unicorns 4th goal came from a free kick again with Chris this time providing the ball into the box for Jamie to get a shot offf into the net. Just after the restart the Cougars won a corner on their right hand side, Thomas put a great ball into the path of Connor eho let fly with a powerful right footed volley thet narrowly missed th target. From the goal kick Stretford launched an attack that saw them break down their left and a great shot hit the post and roll along the line luckily no other Stretford players were up to put it away.
The best was left for the end with one of the best worked goals that the Couogars have scored. With Jamie, Rob and Will working the ball down the right hand side Will was able to slide his second goal in.
A great display again now hopefully we can start to play to our potential in this league.
Well Done to all the players for a fantastic TEAM performance.
