Eagles 2 Broadheath 'A' 0 - Div 1, Sunday 19th October
The Eagles welcomed back Remy after his hand injury for this game. Willie was out after injuring his neck playing hockey - get better soon! (Jack went in nets).
On a windy morning at BTH the Eagles saw off a spirited and determined Broadheath 'A' with goals either side of the half time break from Mark & Dino. The Eagles also hit the woodwork 3 times during the match and Mark had a goal disallowed. The boys had several good chances to make the scoreline more comfortable, but not to worry, it was a good team performance from the Eagles and a clean sheet to boot.
Broadheath 'A' played some good football but were unable to convert their approach play into chances and Jack in goal was virtually untroubled, with the defence coping well with most of the away teams attacking moves. The Eagles midfield were strong and fed the attackers intelligently. Dino & Mark and a few others were unlucky not to get a few more goals.
The score remained 2-0, and when the final whistle blew the parents acknowledged that both teams had played their part in a cracking game of junior football. From a 'home' perspective it was encouraging to see that the Eagles had bounced back positively from last weeks loss, with an all round good team performance.
